Job Summary

New York Embroidery Studio (NYE) is seeking a motivated, assertive, and detail-oriented Product Development & Sample Coordinator to join our team in Brooklyn in a high-growth role. In this position, you will serve as the operational hub of our product development and sample pipeline, coordinating cross-functional efforts to bring medical devices, PPE, and healthcare textiles from concept to full-scale production within the company’s ISO 13485 Quality Management System framework. This includes ensuring that development, evaluation, clinical-use, and commercial samples are appropriately identified, documented, approved, and released for their intended purpose. If you thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced manufacturing environment, possess a strong understanding of garment construction, and excel at driving project accountability across multiple departments, we want you on our team.

Essential Job Duties

Product Development & SKU Management

Develop new products, SKUs, and product variations through patternmaking, technical product development, and reverse engineering of existing products. Create and maintain technical documentation including tech packs, Bills of Materials (BOMs), construction specifications, measurements, manufacturing requirements, and product revisions. Evaluate manufacturing feasibility in collaboration with Production and Quality to ensure products are suitable for production.

Sample Development & Project Coordination

Own the end-to-end sample development process from request through approval. Coordinate activities between Sales, Supply Chain, Quality, and Production to secure materials, approvals, and resources while proactively driving timelines and resolving bottlenecks. Confirm all required approvals are obtained before samples are distributed, shipped, or released for customer or clinical evaluation.

Sample Library & Inventory Management

Maintain an organized physical sample library and inventory system. Track prototype distribution, archive previous sample iterations, maintain identification and traceability, coordinate custom labels, and ensure samples are readily available to support customer requests, sales presentations, audits, and internal development.

Technical Documentation & Design Control

Maintain and continuously update all technical product documentation, including patterns, tech packs, BOMs, specification sheets, artwork, labeling assets, and revision history. Establish strong document control practices to ensure only current, approved documentation is available for production and internal use.

Systems & Project Documentation

Maintain accurate product records, sample timelines, workflows, and component data within Zoho, Excel, and Google Workspace. Document project decisions, approvals, specifications, and key milestones to maintain alignment across cross-functional teams and support Quality Management System requirements.
